(Math) The Nine Times Trick

(Math) The Nine Times Trick

Can’t memorize the 9 times multiplication table? Then I’m here to help you by using the nine times trick. Follow the steps below and you’ll soon memorize the 9 times multiplication table too!

The trick is at your fingertips! Spread your hands in front of you and mentally number them from left to right.Aviary Photo_131392358987157989

Now we’ll multiply one of those numbers by 9. Let’s try 6. To find the answer to 6 × 9, bend your six finger forward (I deleted it just to show you).Aviary Photo_131392364402814598

Count the fingers to the left of the bent finger. That tells you the first digit of the answer: 5. Count the fingers to the right of the bent finger to get the second digit: 4. The product of 6 × 9 is 54.

Now let’s try 4 × 9. First, bend your fourth finger and count the fingers to the left of the bent finger. The first digit is 3. Now count the fingers on the right of the bent finger. The second digit is 6. So, 4 × 9= 36

Hope this is helpful for young kids but try to memorize the multiplication table.
